Delicous DIY No Fry Donuts

1/2 ounce active dry yeast
1/4 cup hot water
1-1/2 cups hot milk
1/3 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
4-1/2 to 5 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup butter, melted

In a large bowl, dissolve yeast in water, let stand until creamy. Add milk and butter; stir for 1 minute. Add sugar, eggs, salt, nutmeg, cinnamon and 2 cups flour; beat on low speed until smooth. Stir in enough remaining flour to form a soft dough (do not knead). Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 1 hour. For best results I placed mine in front of my fire place. But since in the summer there is no use for a fire place, I would use the front porch.

Punch dough down. Turn onto a floured surface; roll out to 1/2-in. thickness. Cut with a 2-3/4-in. Cut donuts with a steel ring or a jar lid approximately 3 1/2 inch diameter. Place donuts on baking sheet and brush with butter. If you would like to make little mini donut bites save the donut holes and place on a pane together. Cover and let rise in a warm place until doubled, about 30 minutes.

Bake at 350° for 20 minutes or until lightly browned.
Bake the donut holes for 15 minutes on a lower rack until golden.

For the donut icing I used Equality Creamy fudge icing.

Scoop a generous amount of icing in a pot. Heat on medium until melted, lower to minimum heat. Dip donut in melted icing and pull donut out of melted icing slowly. Place on pan with parchment paper to reduce mess. Leave in cool and out of site from husbands and children ;) Best of luck!!

Amazing Soft Pretzels Recipe

You may want to double batch this recipe, since it never lasts long at my house, which is one of the explanations I have for not having a picture to show you. This recipe is one of my all time favorite to make. Its fun and easy, but time consuming. Perfect for those snow days or on a weekend with the kids.

4 teaspoons active dry yeast
1 teaspoon white sugar
1 1/4 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
5 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup white sugar
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/2 cup baking soda
4 cups hot water

1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and 1 teaspoon sugar in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, 1/2 cup sugar, and salt. Add the water and yeast mixture. Mix and form into a dough. If the mixture is dry, add one or two tablespoons of water. Knead the dough until smooth, about 7 to 8 minutes. Lightly oil a large bowl, place the dough in the bowl and turn to coat with oil. Cover with plastic wrap and let rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
3. Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). In a large bowl, dissolve baking soda in hot water.
4. When risen, turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and divide into 12 equal pieces. Roll each piece into a rope and twist into a pretzel shape. Once all of the dough is all shaped, dip each pretzel into the baking soda solution and place on a greased baking sheet. Sprinkle with kosher salt (optional)
5. Bake in preheated oven for 8 minutes, until browned.

To this recipe I added my own twist, to create a sweeter and more like the ones you can get at the mall, movies and flea market try adding this solution.

2 tbsp butter, melted
1/4 tsp salt

Combine salt and butter until blended well. Brush on to pretzels and let dry on pretzels.

Cream of mushroom Chicken Dinner

Level: Easy
Prep time: 10 min
Cook time: 1 hour

For a tasty, easy meal that even the kids will love, try this recipe.

Cream of mushroom Chicken breast
4 to 6 piece of chicken
1 can Cream of mushroom soup
1 c. water
4 to 6 peeled and sliced potatoes
2 pinches Rosemary (optional)

Preheat oven to 350F
Rinse thawed chicken and place in 9x13x2 pan with skinned potatoes. Mix soup and water and pour over chicken, don't worry if it looks like to much. To this recipe I like to add a couple sprinkles of rosemary on each chicken breast, you don't have to do this step. Place in oven and cook for one hour. Use soup once chicken as done as gravy for the potatoes and chicken.

Steamed Broccoli
Broccoli bunches
1/4 cup water

Place broccoli and water in pot, close lid and steam for 10 to 15 minutes on medium.

Cheese sauce (for broccoli)
2 tbsp melted butter
2 tbsp flour
1 cup milk
1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Melt butter, mix in flour well. Add milk stir well over medium heat until it thickens. Add cheese, stir until melted and thick.

Wine to complement: White Merlot
Juice: Cranberry
Dessert: Peach Cobbler

Brown Sugar Facial mask: Beautiful skin on a dime

Beautiful Skin on a Dime
So I'm creating a theme here on blogger. I want to provide you with ways you can do and make things for more than a fraction of the price. This week its beautiful skin on a dime. I am currently having issues with loading pictures onto blogger, so I will post them at a later time.

Brown Sugar Facial Mask
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 - 2 tbsp milk, not skim

Mix ingredients well. An additional option I added is heating it up for 10 seconds, making a nice warm sauna mask. You will most defiantly want to put your hair up and wear a bandanna, headband, or scarf. Open pours with warm water and massage lightly on skin. Leave on for 15 minutes, then wash off with warm water. Be sure you get all the brown sugar off your skin. Now enjoy fresh clean beautiful smooth skin!!!
